Who I work with
I work alongside Eric Bomkamp, Liz Bomkamp, and Pete Skroi as a member of the Bomkamp Team at Irish Realty.
Most of my clients fall into three groups.
First-time buyers. Pre-approval, loan types, down payment assistance, inspections, appraisals. It’s a lot of vocabulary to learn while making the largest purchase of your life, and nobody should feel stupid asking what a term means.
Homeowners deciding whether to sell. Outgrowing the house, downsizing, relocating, or just wondering what it’s worth now. Sometimes the honest answer is that this isn’t your year, and I’d rather tell you that than list something that sits.
People moving here for work or for campus. Amazon, Honeywell, and the other employers investing in this area are bringing people in who have never been to Indiana. So is Notre Dame, along with Holy Cross and Saint Mary’s, whether that’s a faculty appointment, a staff role, an alum coming back, a current student, or their family members.
How I work
I look at both the numbers and the house. I pull comparable sales and show you the market trend data driving price in your range. I will also go with you to note details that matter to buyers, including the places a listing photo carefully avoids. I’m not an inspector and I won’t pretend to be one, but I help clients keep their attention on what actually moves money. For buyers that means defects instead of paint colors. For sellers it means not spending $8,000 on a kitchen refresh when the roof is what buyers will flag.
I answer my phone. The stretch between accepted offer and closing is where most transactions go quiet, and it’s the stretch where people get anxious. If underwriting throws something at you three days before closing, you’ll hear from me that day.
I tell you what I see. If a house is wrong for you, I’ll say so, even when it means another month of looking. If I’m not the right agent for what you need, I’ll say that too and point you somewhere better.
Where I come from
I’m a Double Domer, Notre Dame class of ’19 and ’21, and a former staff member at Holy Cross College. That means I know this area from the inside: which commutes are actually fifteen minutes and which ones are fifteen minutes until the first home football Saturday, where people in a given situation tend to end up looking, and how the academic calendar shapes when houses move.
Before real estate I worked as a teacher. I still coach wrestling at Saint Joseph High School. Teaching and coaching are mostly the same job: attend to the details, work out what someone already knows, then explain the next part without making them feel stupid for asking. As your real estate professional I make sure that you are informed and empowered to make the best decisions about one of your most important assets.
I earned my license in April 2025 and went full time in November. Twenty-one closings later, the thing I’d tell you is that the work is mostly patience and returned phone calls. The market knowledge matters. Being reachable at 8pm on a Thursday when something goes sideways matters too.
My median sale price is $152,500 and I’ve worked deals from $35,000 to $495,000. Plenty of agents in this market won’t take a listing or write an offer under six figures. About a quarter of my closings are there, and those buyers deserve the same diligent person answering the phone as anyone else.
Where I work
South Bend, Mishawaka, and Granger, plus New Carlisle, Lakeville, and Elkhart. Most of my business is in St. Joseph County. If you’re just outside that and not sure whether to ask, ask.
Start with a question
Buying your first house, selling the one you’re in, or moving here for work. You don’t have to be ready to do any of it to get in touch.
